The CTA408 integrated amplifier is designed for those who prefer the convenience of a single-chassis amplifier without sacrificing the performance typically associated with separates. It offers advanced features such as separate phono inputs for MC and MM, monitoring in/outputs, a headphone amplifier, and a startup system that significantly extends tube life.

• Tube driver stage supported by MOSFET circuitry.
• Multiple independent power supplies designed to provide constant power, isolating power stage fluctuations from the input stages and eliminating reverse modulation toward the power grid.
• Dedicated Class A headphone amplifier (speaker output automatically mutes when headphones are inserted).
• Excellent J-FET phono preamplifier. Active RIAA equalization using over one hundred discrete components, housed in a noise-shielded enclosure.
• The output transformers are designed in-house by Copland, optimized for ideal power bandwidth. The massive transformer core prevents saturation and allows full power transfer well below 20 Hz with minimal phase shift. Multiple layers of interleaved windings ensure excellent linearity. The extended high-frequency response reduces the need for internal lag compensation once the amplifier’s 15 dB negative feedback loop is applied.
• The amplifier’s power section is based on KT150 tubes, a modern variant of the legendary 6550/KT88, which in the CTA408 clearly demonstrate that the timeless sonic qualities of tubes can extend into domains now often dominated by solid-state designs.
